The view, 27 years later, taken from the spot on the river bank where my tent was pitched.
It was across this parking area I followed the tracks of Atlas that fateful morning in three inches of snow. I reached the point he met with another animal, the sign of a scuffle, no more kitty tracks, only the trail of the predator's expedited departure to the tree line and far beyond. |
